At the 2000 Summer Olympic Games, a determined Wyoming farm boy defeated the greatest Olympic wrestler of all time in "The Miracle on the Mat." Four years later, after a near fatal accident in the frozen Wyoming wilderness, a tearful Rulon Gardner touched the hearts of sports fans everywhere when he left his shoes on the mat, symbolizing his retirement after winning an Olympic Bronze. Now, in a memoir for anyone who has dreamed about beating the odds, for anyone who believes in blue-collar heroes, comes Never Stop Pushing. A modern-day Paul Bunyan, Rulon Gardner grew up on his Mormon family's dairy farm, where unceasing chores helped him develop tremendous strength and stamina at an early age. He struggled in school due to learning disabilities and was often the butt of his classmates' jokes. Yet Gardner found success in wrestling, which allowed him to pursue his college degree and instilled within him the confidence and drive that took him to the center of world sport. Behind one of the greatest upsets in Olympic history is Gardner 's moving tale of obstacles overcome by his indefatigable will to succeed.

Allsportrating talk show features Dwight Benedict

We are privileged to feature Dwight Benedict, the Chairman of Deaflympics. The 16th Sinter Deaflympics will be held in Salt Lake City, UT from February 1-10 and will offer competition that features the world's best deaf athletes. The Deaflympics was founded in 1924, in the second oldest international multi-cultural sport event in the world. These athletes will be competing in many of the same venues used in the 2002 Olympic Games. The event will take place at: Park City Mountain Resort, Soldier Hollow Nordic Camp, and at the Steiner Ice Center in Salt Lake City, UT.

The Gold Crown Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)3 corporation founded in 1986 by former NBA great Bill Hanzlik and Colorado business leader Ray Baker. The organization operates with a mission to provide opportunities and “Educate Youth and Community Through Sports and Enrichment Programs”. As the organization continues to grow, the Gold Crown Foundation anticipates providing more than 27,000 opportunities for girls and boys with our roster of programs in 2005. Participants from the Denver metro area, Colorado front-range, and Rocky Mountain region will participate in Gold Crown basketball, volleyball and golf programs as well as baseball through Coca-Cola All Star Park. The Gold Crown Foundation owns and operates Coca-Cola All Star Park in Lakewood, Colorado – a premier youth baseball field modeled after historic Coors Field that was constructed in 1998 in conjunction with the Colorado Rockies Baseball Club. In October of 2003, the Foundation proudly opened the Gold Crown Field House. This 56,000 square-foot indoor facility which will house many of Gold Crown’s indoor programs and allow us to greatly expand our enrichment programming and serve the community further.
